Academic Life
I retired at the end of 2009 after 40 years in the Rutgers-Camden Psychology Department. Though trained in psychological measurement as an Educational Testing Service Psychometric Fellow in graduate school, my interests changed from doing research in the field to doing research on it. I have studied the use–or more properly the misuse–of social science to support oppressive social policies, especially in the area of race, seeking to explore how scientists in general, and psychologists in particular, have become involved with such issues and what effect their participation has produced.
